Eviscerate/Cleave Versus Battle Rage?
Has anyone done a comparison to see which is better?
I really like Battle Rage. It gives me Sprint and double-adrenaline basically indefinately. Has anyone done any math to see which combo is better. Let's assume the choice is: Eviscerate{E} + Executioner's Strike + Sprint/Rush or Executioner's Strike + Penetrating Blow + Battle Rage {E}. Which of those 2 will pump out more dps? Assume Axe: 16, Strength: 10 Disadvantages to Battle Rage that I can see: It is a stance and so you can't do Flurry with it. It ends (and drains your adrenaline) if you use a non-attack skill, which includes all shouts and 2ndary profession skills. It's elite so you can't take your favorite elite attack. Advantages: It is adrenaline based and so you can basically keep it on forever. Hey double adrenaline means you can crank out those Exec. Strikes every 5 hits instead of every 9. Constant sprint - helps catch those runners. Let's discuss |

Eviscerate. Elite sprints don't work well in combat.

Erm. I think some actual numbers are wanted here, not some opinions. I was also wondering about this recently, as I'm finally getting to capping the warrior elites. In my mind I wonder if it gives a higher DPS, and if so, would the higher DPS be worth sacrificing the more spike-like damage you can do with Eviscerate. I really have no idea.
I wish there was a way to summon Ensign to a thread. |

I don't think it'd be useful to 'summon' him here to regurgitate what he already wrote in the Cleave vs. Eviscerate debate, where the same question was asked.

Thank you! I feel quite silly now, since I read that thread but somehow missed that post. I really appreciate you offering up a link and not insulting me. Thank you again.

this dmg model is inaccurate in the fact that some people are cowardly runners.
If you're fighting runners, the BR build will easily outdamage since you have to switch to sprint which is both limited and you're stuck swinging several times to get that adrenaline. Since most people assume it's fine to stand next to a warrior and get healed by monk, frenzy + adrenal spike is more useful... I for one fight too many runners so a critical Weaken Armored Exe. Strike to the spine is my fav. # to see... |
